VIDEO: CDC can say 'fetus,' insists there's no ban on words

CDC Director Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald stated no words have been prohibited within the health agency. Dr. Fitzgerald even stated two reportedly prohibited phrases in her remarks. The Washington Post initially reported that seven words and phrases had been discussed during a budget-related meeting, as the Office of Management and Budget receives proposals from federal agencies. The Budget office has input on what is included in budget materials. The Post quoted an anonymous policy analyst, who alleged terms such as 'fetus' were not to be used in the materials. But that discussion also included the phrases, science-based and evidence-based, which Director Fitzgerald reiterated in her remarks.
