York County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:30 p.m. as well as other severe weather warnings, according to the National Weather Service.

A storm heading for the central part of the county on Tuesday, May 15, has produced 70 mph winds and quarter-sized hail, the NWS said. Wind damage is likely to trees, roofs, outbuildings and mobile homes, and vehicles are likely to be damaged by hail, the service said.

York County and the surrounding counties remain under a sever thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. and a flash flood warning until midnight, the NWS said.

Localized heavy rainfall could cause flooding of small streams and roadways, the service warned.
