The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northwestern York County.

The warning is in effect until 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

At 8:11 p.m. the storm was moving northeast at 30 mph, producing torrential rainfall, quarter-size hail and 60 mph wind gusts, according to the weather service.

The warning says the area could see flooding, wind damage to trees and power lines and hail damage to vehicles.
