Flood advisory this afternoon for York County

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a small stream flood advisory for an area that includes southeastern York County.

The advisory, issued at 2:45 p.m., is expected to last until 5:45 p.m.

The NWS said radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms have caused up to an inch of rain in affected areas, with the possibility of one or two more inches by 4 p.m. 

In York County, Stewartstown, Delta, Shrewsbury, Railroad, and Peach Bottom will be affected, according to the NWS.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks, streams, coutnry roads, farmland, and additional low-lying spots, the NWS said.
