CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Dover High School graduate John Kuhn is back with the New Orleans Saints.
Kuhn's name is again listed on the Saints' active roster on the team's website, neworleanssaints.com.
According to reports, Kuhn attended the Saints' game Sunday, Sept. 24, in Charlotte, North Carolina, a 34-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He did not suit up for the game, however, and was not on the team's active roster.
According to reports, Kuhn then flew with the team from Charlotte to London, where the Saints will face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Oct. 1.
In fact, the Saints' website posted a Twitter photo of Kuhn with some of his Saints' teammates attending an Arsenal-West Brom soccer game on Monday, Sept. 25, in the English Premier League.
Kuhn's trip to London came a day after two websites that cover the Saints (NOLA.com and theadvocate.com) reported that the Saints were expected to re-sign Kuhn on Monday.
The Saints had released the veteran fullback ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers to create roster space for the addition of other players.
New Orleans does not typically operate without a fullback on the roster, but was still able to accumulate 149 yards rushing during the 34-13 win over the Panthers.
Kuhn's release last week was the second time he had been released by the Saints this season.
Kuhn was also released on Sept. 3, only to be re-signed by the team on Sept. 6.
Kuhn has seen only limited action for New Orleans, playing eight snaps in the team's opener and four snaps in the team's second game. This season, Kuhn has one rushing attempt for 2 yards and has not caught a pass. The Saints are 1-2.
The 6-foot, 250-pound Kuhn is a 12-year NFL veteran. Over the years, he has mostly been used as a blocking back, outlet receiver and short-yardage runner.
