Three former NFL players coming to York this weekend

Three former NFL players will visit York this weekend as guests for a pop-up restaurant event called "Taste Test."

Former Penn State linebacker Aaron Maybin will be in York this Sunday doing a meet and greet for a pop-up restaurant "The Game Day Kitchen."

Aaron Maybin, Obafemi Ayanbadejo and Scott Paxson will do a meet and greet with customers attending the event for The Game Day Kitchen. The event is set for Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. at

YorKitchen Shared Kitchen Incubator at 37 W. Clarke Ave.

Jen Heasley spent 23 years teaching for the York City School District before retiring and pursuing her passion for cooking. She recently published her first cookbook "The Game Day Kitchen" and will be auditioning her foods for "Taste Test."

Two of the players who will be in attendance, Maybin and Paxson, are former Penn State players. Maybin was the 11th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and played four seasons in the league for three different teams before being released by the Cincinnati Bengals before the start of the 2013 season.

Paxson went undrafted out of Penn State and then was signed and cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers before the 2006 season. He then re-signed with the Steelers during the year. He spent the next five seasons in Pittsburgh before playing two years with the Cleveland Browns. He has since been a member of the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League.

Ayanbedejo played 11 years in the NFL as a fullback, winning a Super Bowl ring with the Chicago Bears in his final NFL season in 2007.
