NASCAR Monster Cup driver Kasey Kahne set to race at Williams Grove, Lincoln this weekend

NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne again plans to race in central Pennsylvania this weekend.

Kahne announced on his Twitter site (@KaseyKahne) Thursday that he plans to race at Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg on Friday evening and at Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown on Saturday evening.

The Williams Grove show will feature the 410 sprint cars and 358 sprint cars and starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Lincoln program will feature the Spring Championship for the 410 sprint cars, with the winner earning $5,000. The 358 sprints are also on the program, with action starting at 6 p.m.

The area dirt-track circuit has been plagued by poor weather recently, but the forecast for Friday evening at the Grove calls for temperatures in the high 40s and less than a 10 percent chance of rain. Saturday evening at Lincoln looks even better, with temperatures in the low 50s and no chance of rain.

Kahne is no stranger to central Pennsylvania race fans. He has raced in the area quite often and owns sprint-car wins at both Williams Grove and Lincoln.

Because of the Easter weekend, the NASCAR Monster Cup series is off, allowing Kahne the opportunity to race in this area. Kahne currently sits 27th in the Monster Cup point standings.

Kahne owns 18 career Cup victories.
