Port Royal Speedway, World of Outlaws reschedule Tuscarora 50 for Saturday, Oct. 27
- Port Royal Speedway will play host to the Tuscarora 50 on Saturday, Oct. 27.
- The race was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8, but was rained out.
- The Tuscarora 50, sanctioned by the World of Outlaws, will pay $51,000 to the winner.
The 51st annual Tuscarora 50, sanctioned by the World of Outlaws, is now set to hit Port Royal Speedway on Saturday evening, Oct. 27.
The $51,000-to-win, 51st annual event was set for this past Saturday, Sept. 8. Rain postponed the event that night, as well as on the rain date the next night.
Speedway and Outlaw officials then worked to put together a rescheduled date.
Friday Oct. 26, will still feature the previously scheduled Nittany Showdown, paying $8,000 to win for the World of Outlaws-vs.-Pennsylvania Posse event.
Then the next night, Packer’s Concessions and Ramsey’s Car Wash & Garage will present the Tuscarora 50, which will still pay $51,000 to win out of a one-day 410 sprint purse worth more than $106,000.
The rain date for the rescheduled event will be Sunday, Oct. 28.
The Nittany Showdown, originally scheduled as a two-day event this year, will now return to its previous one-day $8,000-to-win format.
Rain-check wristbands and reserved seats from the rained-out Sept. 8 program will be honored for the Oct. 27 Tuscarora 50 program, only.
Last Saturday, 53 cars were pitside for the Tuscarora 50 before the rains hit.
