Lucas Wolfe wins Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek finale, Hodnett takes overall title
- Lucas Wolfe won the Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speeweek finale on Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway.
- Danny Dietrich took second in the race, followed by Blane Heimbach.
- Greg Hodnett took the overall Speedweek title, two points ahead of Dietrich. Wolfe was third.
Lucas Wolfe stole the show in Sunday evening's Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek finale at Selinsgrove Speedway.
Wolfe collected $5,000 for his win in the 30-lap feature event.
Spring Grove's Greg Hodnett edged Danny Dietrich to claim the Speedweek point title and the $5,000 prize that goes with it.
Wolfe started fourth in the feature event, with Dietrich grabbing the early lead from the outside front-row starting position.
Freddie Rahmer raced second in the early stages of the race, before Wolfe slipped by. Over the final 10 laps of the race, Wolfe challenged Dietrich for the lead on every turn before slipping past with the two-laps-to-go sign in the air.
Wolfe scored the win over Dietrich, with Blane Heimbach, Rahmer and Jason Shultz in the top five. Hodnett, Ryan Smith, James McFadden, Rico Abreu and Cale Conley completed the top 10.
Hodnett entered the feature event with a 22-point lead over Dietrich, Wolfe and Rahmer. Each had a slim mathematical shot at the crown. Had Dietrich won the race, he would have gained the title. Since Dietrich didn't win, Hodnett had to finish within four positions of Dietrich.
In the end, Hodnett won the title by two points over Dietrich, with Wolfe, Rahmer and Smith in the top five.
