DIRT-TRACK RACING: Lance Dewease drives to $4,000 triumph at Williams Grove Speedway
Lance Dewease won Friday’s World of Outlaws Tune-Up at Williams Grove Speedway.
Dewease collected $4,000 for his 89th career victory at the track. That win moves Dewease within one win of all-time track win leader Fred Rahmer.
Dewease started second and trailed pole-sitter Steve Buckwalter for the first nine laps of the 25-lap contest. Once in front, Dewease motored to the victory over a tight battle for the second spot. In the end, Danny Dietrich edged Lucas Wolfe for second, with Buckwalter in fourth. James McFadden completed the top five.
Rounding out the top 10 were T.J. Stutts, Dillsburg’s Anthony Macri, Brandon Rahmer, Spring Grove’s Greg Hodnett and Alan Krimes.
The 358 sprint feature was halted after four laps when rain hit the speedway. It will be completed at a later date.
Holbrook leads way at Trailway: David Holbrook won Friday’s 358 sprint feature at Trailway Speedway for his first win of the season.
Early leader Joe Trone Jr., of Hanover, finished second, with Mike Bittinger, Cody Fletcher and Steve Kisamore in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were John Sharpe, Austen Truechet, Greg Plankl, Brody Treaster and Trevin Caruccio.
Brian Marriott won the 270cc micro-sprint feature over Joe Long Jr., with Steven Cox, Tim McClelland and Cory Myers in the top five.
Brian Walls was the street-stock winner over Ryan Smith, Danny Beard, Jim Jacobs and Aaron Beard. Matt Chronister won the limited-stock event.
Mark Smith wins at Bedford: Mark Smith won the URC 360 sprint feature at Bedford Speedway on Friday evening.
Smith’s win came over Jason Shultz, with Chad Layton in third. Rounding out the top 10 were Curt Michael, Chandler Leiby, Derek Locke, Coleman Gullick, Adam Carberry, Josh Weller and Troy Betts.
Andy Haus won the late-model feature over Jeff Rine, with Nathan Lasalle, Chuck Clise and Andy Fries in the top five.
Yoder excels at Clinton County: Dylan Yoder won the limited-late-model feature at Clinton County Speedway Friday over his cousin, Andrew Yoder.
Joe Lusk, Matt Cochran and Brian Shuey completed the top five.
In the 305 sprint feature, Brad Mellott was the winner over Ken Duke, Tyler Cochran, Kyle Ganoe and Dakota Schweikert.
Schatz tops Outlaws: Donny Schatz won both World of Outlaws features at Eldora Speedway over the weekend.
In both Friday and Saturday’s events, Hanover’s Logan Schuchart finished second.
Rain hampers slate: Rain again hampered the local racing slate over the weekend.
All of the local Saturday racing was washed out, along with Sunday’s program at BAPS Motor Speedway.
BAPS, Lincoln, Selinsgrove and Port Royal were all rained out on Saturday.
