York's Lucas Montgomery wins at Susquehanna Speedway


York’s Lucas Montgomery held off a host of challengers to win Saturday’s legends feature at Susquehanna Speedway.

Montgomery’s win came over Seven Valleys' Harlon Leppo, with Bob Stough in third. Chad Earnst and Travis Perry completed the top five.

Big Diamond Speedway street-stock champion Eric Tripp scored his first Susquehanna street-stock win, fending off Jimmy Combs for the victory. Paul Morgan, Jim Palm and Doug Barber completed the top five.

Ronnie Buck got his first Susquehanna extreme-stock win, over Matt Wampler, Dave Nester, Donnie Broderick and Cameron Desimone.

Daniel Bair topped John Scarborough for the win in the stock 600cc micro sprints, while Justin Wagaman edged Matt Chronister for the road-warrior win.  Dennis Dorosz was the minivan winner.

Local drivers fare well in Charlotte: Jason Johnson raced to victory in Friday’s World of Outlaws sprint-car feature on the Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Johnson's win came over Hanover’s Logan Schuchart, with Donny Schatz, Dale Blaney and Brad Sweet in the top five. Other local racers in the field included: Brent Marks in 12th, Lucas Wolfe in 13th, Danny Dietrich in 18th, Spring Grove’s Greg Hodnett in 23rd and Stevie Smith in 25th.

Josh Richards won the World of Outlaws late-model feature, with Chris Madden in second. Darrell Lannigan, Brandon Overton and Shane Clanton rounded out the top five. York’s Rick Eckert was 17th and Newberrytown’s Jason Covert was 20th.

Matt Sheppard won the DIRT modified feature.

Schatz won Saturday’s Outlaws' sprint feature over David Gravel. Schatz also finished 15th both nights in the late-model features. Hodnett finished third in the sprint race, with Joey Saldana and Schuchart in the top five. Dietrich finished 14th.

Madden won the late-model feature over Tim McCreadie, Don O Neill, Eric Wells and Overton. Eckert was 18th.

Sheppard was again the DIRT modified winner.
