DIRT TRACK RACING: Montieth wins at Lincoln Speedway

Brian Montieth won the Hank Gentzler Memorial Manufacturers' Appreciation Night sprint-car feature at Lincoln Speedway on Sunday evening.

Montieth's $4,000 win was his third at Lincoln this season and the 53rd of his career there.

Montieth started second and led all 25 laps, despite a late-race charge by second-place finisher Danny Dietrich.

Alan Krimes finished third, with Lucas Wolfe and Hanover's Jacob Allen in the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 were Brent Marks, Jim Siegel, Spring Grove's Greg Hodnett, Hanover's Logan Schuchart and Dover's Austin Hogue.

In the 358 sprint-car feature, Dillsburg's Brie Hershey picked up her second Lincoln win of the season. Brent Shearer finished second, with Doug Hammaker, Chandler Leiby and Tyler Esh in the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 were Jake Eldreth, Todd Rittenhouse Jr., Ashley Cappetta, Kyle Denmyer and Cody Fletcher.

Spring Grove's Hodnett wins at Grove: Hodnett won Friday’s sprint-car feature at Williams Grove Speedway.

The $3,800 win was Hodnett’s 23rd overall win of the season.

Hodnett started third and took the lead from York’s Cory Haas on the third lap of the 25-lap event. He went on to score the win over Freddie Rahmer, with Haas in third. Danny Dietrich and Marks completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Wolfe, Montieth, Lance Dewease, T.J. Stutts and Rodney Westhafer.

Bryan Bernheisel won the late-model feature, collecting $2,250 for his efforts. Bernheisel’s win came over Dover’s Gene Knaub, with Tyler Horst in third. Dover’s Coleby Frye and Etters’ Sam Rial completed the top five.

Shows wiped out by rain: Susquehanna Speedway was rained out on Saturday, with the 40-lap, $2,000-to-win event for the super sportsmen added to next week’s program.

Port Royal Speedway’s Blue Collar Classic was also rained out on Saturday. The 305 sprint race has been added to the Oct. 22 Open Wheel Madness program, joining hte sprint cars and the URC 360 sprint cars. The extreme stock event has been added to this week’s World of Outlaws sprint show.

Schatz takes Outlaw feature: Donny Schatz won Saturday night's World of Outlaw feature at Fulton, New York, with Lucas Wolfe and Danny Dietrich next in line.

Wilbur first at Path Valley: Steve Wilbur won the wingless super sportsman feature at Path Valley on Sunday afternoon.
