DIRT TRACK RACING: Owings does it again at Trailway

Steve Owings made it two victories in a row in Trailway Speedway’s 25-lap 358 sprint car feature Friday evening.

Owings took command from Cody Fletcher on the 12th lap. Fletcher finished second, with Jeff Halligan, Doug Hammaker and David Holbrook in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were J.B. Cunningham, Spring Grove’s Zach Eucalano, Shane Smith, Randy Whisler and Seth Kearchner.

York’s Lucas Montgomery pulled out a last-lap win in the Legends car feature. Mason Chaney finished second, with Chad Earnst, Craley’s Bill Diehl and Justice Forbes in the top five.

Brian Walls was the street-stock winner and Jeff Foster won the limited-stock event.

Freddie Rahmer triumphs at Williams Grove: Freddie Rahmer claimed his first Williams Grove sprint car win on Friday evening. The 20-year-old son of the track’s all-time win leader collected $3,800 for his victory in the 25-lap feature.

Rahmer started sixth and worked his way forward as pole-sitter Matt Campbell, of Fawn Grove, led the early stages of the event. Rahmer slipped by Campbell for the lead on the 16th lap and then had to fend off Alan Krimes and Spring Grove’s Greg Hodnett for the win. Krimes finished second, with Hodnett, Campbell and Steve Buckwalter in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Brian Montieth, Danny Dietrich, Brock Zearfoss, Lucas Wolfe and Mark Smith.

Freddie Rahmer earned his first career Williams Grove sprint car victory Friday night.

Hodnett came back to collect $4,000 for leading all 25 laps of the URC/ESS/358 Challenge Race. Hodnett’s win came over New York state star Chuck Hebing, with Aaron Ott, Robbie Stillwaggon and Davie Franek in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Josh Weller, Wolfe, Curt Michael, Kyle Reinhardt and Jason Shultz.

Newlin victorious at Clinton County: Zach Newlin won Friday’s 305 sprint feature at Clinton County. Scott Lutz finished second, followed by Nathan Gramley, Ken Duke and Tylor Cochran.

Andrew Yoder was the limited late model winner over Luke Hoffner.

Rain: Saturday racing around the area was rained out. Programs at Lincoln, Susquehanna, Port Royal and Selinsgrove were all washed out. The Sunday show at Susquehanna was also rained out.
