Hodnett, Stevie Smith earn sprint wins at Grandview

Spring Grove's Greg Hodnett and Stevie Smith each won sprint car events at Grandview Speedway on Tuesday evening.

Hodnett won the completion of the event that was rained out during Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek. He collected $5,000 for his 18th overall win of the season. The 35-lap event concluded with the final 20 laps on Tuesday.

Brent Marks finished second in the make-up race, with Lucas Wolfe, Aaron Ott and Stevie Smith in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Danny Dietrich, Alan Krimes, T.J. Stutts, Ryan Taylor and Tyler Ross in the top 10.

In the regularly scheduled event, Stevie Smith chased Ryan Smith for the first 11 laps before Ryan Smith had mechanical problems. Stevie Smith led the rest of the 35-lap event to score his first win of the season. It was also worth $5,000.

Danny Dietrich finished second, with Hodnett, Tim Shaffer and Marks in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Wolfe, Krimes, Ott, Davey Sammons and Taylor.

The twin features for modifieds were won by Craig Von Dohren and Duane Howard.
