Doug Hammaker won Friday’s 358 sprint car feature at Trailway Speedway.

The win was Hammaker’s second of the season at Trailway, and his fourth overall.

Hammaker took the lead from Cody Fletcher on the 24th of 25 laps and went on to score the win.  Fletcher and Seth Kerchner tangled while battling for second on the final turn. Mike Bittinger finished second, with Jeff Halligan, David Holbrook and Kevin Nouse in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Issac Sneeringer, Hellam’s Adrian Shaffer, Dwight Leppo, Dave Thrush and Nyle Berkes.

Brian Marriott wont he 270cc micro sprint feature over Steven Cox, Joe Long Jr., Levi Peck and Rodney Glass.

Marshall McMullen was the street-stock winner and Matt Chronister won the limited-stock feature.

Dewease wins Outlaw feature at the Grove: Lance Dewease stopped the World of Outlaws Friday evening at Williams Grove.

In what was to be the first night of a two-day show, Dewease drove to his second consecutive Grove win. With Saturday’s program being washed out, Dewease’s winner’s share was bumped up from $8,000 to $10,000.

Dewease started third and chased Spring Grove’s Greg Hodnett for the first 13 laps of the 25-lap event before taking the lead on the 14th lap. From there, Dewease was home free, although both Hodnett and Donny Schatz closed late in the race when Dewease encountered lapped traffic. Dewease took the win over Hodnett and Schatz, with Daryn Pittman and Danny Dietrich in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Joey Saldana, Doug Esh, Shane Stewart, Ryan Smith and T.J. Stutts.

The annual battle between the Outlaws and Pennsylvania Posse for the prestigious Morgan Cup will move to the final night of the Champion Oil Summer Nationals on Saturday, July 23.

The new date introduces a winner-take-all Saturday night showdown, with the driver who claims the checkered flag not only taking home the heavily sought after Morgan Cup trophy, but also an additional $5,000, making the total purse $25,000.

Wagner victorious at Clinton County: Waylon Wagner won Friday’s super late model feature at Clinton County.

Wagner’s win came over Max Blair, with Dylan Yoder, Justin Kann and Matt Cochran in the top five.

Mark Smith triumphs in New York: Local racer Mark Smith won the Empire Super Sprints 360 sprint feature Friday evening in Dundee, New York.
