Spring Grove's Hodnett wins at Port


Spring Grove’s Greg Hodnett opened the season at Port Royal Speedway Saturday evening with his second win of the season.

Hodnett’s 43rd career Port Royal victory was worth $3,500.

Danny Dietrich, fresh off a fifth-place finish earlier that afternoon at Lincoln, led the first four laps of the feature, before Lucas Wolfe took command. Two laps later Dietrich exited the race after shredding his right rear tire.

Wolfe led until breaking a wheel on the 14th lap of the crash-filled contest, turning the lead over to Hodnett, who motored on to victory. Defending Selinsgrove 360 sprint champion T.J. Stutts finished second, with Mike Wagner in third. Dylan Cisney and Curt Stroup completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Mark Smith, Wayne Dadetto, Ryan Taylor, Steve Buckwalter and Rick Lafferty.

Andy Haus opened the late model season with the $2,000 win in that class. Haus’ win was his fourth at the track where his father Scott is the all-time career win leader with 95 victories. Gregg Satterlee finished second, with Kyle Hardy, Dover’s Coleby Frye and Jim Yoder in the top five.

Billy Dietrich races to Lincoln win: Billy Dietrich raced to his first win of the season on Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Speedway.

The $3,200 win was Dietrich’s second career 410 sprint win at Lincoln.

Dietrich started third and took the lead from York’s Gelnndon Forsythe on the eighth of 25 laps. He went on to score the win over Forsythe, with last week’s winner, Brian Montieth, coming from the 13th starting spot for a fast-closing third-place finish. Shane Hoff and Danny Dietrich completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were York’s Cory Haas, York’s Adam Wilt, Gerard McIntyre Jr., Lewisberry’s Kyle Moody and Alan Krimes.
