For York-Adams League wrestlers, the road to Hershey's Giant Center starts this week with detours to Hanover and York Springs.

The individual wrestling postseason starts Saturday with sectional action.

In Class 3-A, the sectionals will be held at Gov. Mifflin (Section 1), Hempfield (Section 2), Mechanicsburg (Section 3) and South Western (Section 4).

In each of those sections, the top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the District 3 tournament.

All of the York-Adams schools will compete at South Western near Hanover, starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. That includes Central York, Dallastown, Dover, Gettysburg, New Oxford, Northeastern, Red Lion, South Western, Spring Grove, Susquehannock, West York, York, York Tech and York Suburban. There will be one school from outside the Y-A League competing at South Western — Waynesboro.

In Class 2-A, the sectionals are set for Hamburg (Section 1), Central Dauphin East (Section 2), Susquenita (Section 3) and Bermudian Springs (Section 4).

In each of those sections, the top three wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the District 3 tournament.

All of the Y-A schools will compete at Bermmudian Springs near York Springs, starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, including: Bermudian Springs, Biglerville, Delone Catholic, Eastern York, Fairfield, Hanover, Kennard-Dale and Littestown.

The District 3 tournament, for Class 3-A, starts Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Giant Center, and continues Friday, Feb. 23, and finishes up Saturday, Feb. 24.

The District 3 2-A action is also at the Giant Center, but doesn't start until Friday, Feb. 23, and concludes Saturday, Feb. 24.

The top four District 3 3-A finishers in each weight class will advance directly into the PIAA state tournament.

The top seven District 3 2-A finishers in each weight class will advance to the Southeast Regional  at Wilson High School on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3.

The top six wrestlers in each weight class at the Southeast Regional will then move on to the PIAA state tournament.

The PIAA state event is set for Thursday, March 8, through Saturday, March 10, at the Giant Center in Hershey.
