Dallastown wrestlers storm to Hawk Mountain title
- The Dallastown Wildcats went 5-0 to win the Hawk Mountain Duals at Hamburg High.
- The Wildcats improved to 8-0 in dual-meet action with the victories.
- John Ligon, Jarrett Feeney, Drake Pew and Bryce Shields each went 5-0 for the Wildcats.
The Dallastown High School wrestling team continued its impressive start to the 2016-2017 season on Saturday.
The Wildcats went 5-0 to win the Hawk Mountain Duals at Hamburg High School.
In pool-play action, Dallastown beat Caeser Rodney 47-21, Berlin Brothersvalley 54-24, Hamburg 48-17 and Tamaqua 72-12.
In the championship match, the Wildcats beat Pottsville 40-27.
Dallastown improved to 8-0 for the season.
John Ligon (132), Jarrett Feeney (152), Drake Pew (170) and Bryce Shields (220) each went 5-0 in the tournament for Dallastown. Dalton Daugherty (126), Hayden Jones (160), Cameron Green (182) and William Anderson (285) went 4-1 for the Wildcats.
Dallastown will put its perfect record on the line Tuesday night in a key York-Adams Division I match at home against South Western. The Mustangs enter at 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the division.
If the Wildcats win that contest, their next Division I contest on the following Tuesday (Jan. 17) could decide the D-I crown. That's when the Wildcats will travel to Spring Grove, which sits at 8-1 overall and 3-0 in Division I.
