BOYS' TENNIS: Red Lion wins close vs. Berks Catholic


Red Lion squeezed out a 4-3 non-league boys' tennis victory over visiting Berks Catholic on Tuesday.

Alex Ohme, Chase McKnight and Riley Krout all won at No. 3-5 singles, and then Ohme and Krout teamed up to win the deciding point in the match at No. 2 doubles to secure the victory for Red Lion.



Spring Grove 7, Northeastern 0: At Spring Grove, the Rockets dropped only one set in their sweep of the Bobcats. Grant Wierman, Jeffery Bauer, Blake Harlacher, Garrett Leib and Nick Erickson all won their singles matches, while the teams of Wierman/Leib and Harlacher/Bauer picked up the doubles points.

South Western 7, West York 0: At Hanover, the Mustangs swept the Bulldogs without dropping a set. Ben Sentz, Patrick Kane, Ryan Hohman, Jacob Biondo and Ethan Garrett all won singles matches for South Western.

Delone Catholic 5, York Suburban 2: At Suburban,Nick Durksi, Rob McGough, Tom Plummer and Noah Russell won singles points for Delone, while the team of Sweeney/McGough won the team’s only doubles point. Jake Arbetman won the only singles point for Suburban, while Tyr Abenschoen and Tom Platts teamed up to win the Trojans' only doubles point.

New Oxford 6, Dover 1: At New Oxford, the Colonials received singles victories from Joey Stiles, Josiah Forry, Justin Gruver, Justin Klunk and Adam Rudasill. For the Eagles, Luke Lightner and Michael Kozuch combined to win a doubles match.

Gettysburg 7, Susquehannock 0: At Gettysburg, the Warriors received singles victories from Adam Yingling, Zach Kiick, Drew Riggle, Bobby Weikert and Max Lempe.
