BOYS' TENNIS: Red Lion improves to 5-1 with win


The Red Lion boys' tennis team improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in York-Adams Division I with a 7-0 victory over West York on Tuesday.

The Lions swept the Bulldogs without dropping a set. Alec Shue, Nick Stare, Alex Ohme, Chase McKnight and Riley Krout each won singles matches, while Stare and McKnight and Ohme and Krout teamed to win the doubles matches.



York Catholic 7, Delone Catholic 0: At Springettsbury, Michael Andrews, Alberto Brunno, Nicholas Gingerich, T.J. McGraw and Mason Elliott all won in singles for York Catholic, while the teams of Andrews/Brunno and McGraw/Elliott won the two doubles matches.

New Oxford 5, Spring Grove 2: At New Oxford, the Colonials captured the match in doubles with Joey Stiles and Blake Harlacher winning the No. 1 match and Jeffery Bauer and Dominick Ott capturing the No. 2 match. For the Rockets, Grant Wierman and Garret Leib each captured a singles match.

South Western 7, Northeastern 0: At Hanover, the Mustangs received singles victories from Ben Sentz, Gavin Kenny, Patrick Kane, Ryan Hohman and Ethan Garrett.

Central York 6, Dover 0: At Central, Chris Maderitz, Connor Bacha, Kyle Varone and Alec Goldstone each earned 6-0, 6-0 singles wins for the Panthers.

York Suburban 6, Hanover 1: At Suburban, the Trojans received singles victories from Tyr Abendschoen, Jacob Arbetman, Drew Thompson and Shobit Kharuna to secure the victory.
