PREP: Central York's Cameron Speed finishes 12th in 500-yard freestyle at PIAA swim meet

Central York sophomore Cameron Speed was the top York-Adams League performer on the second-and-final day of the PIAA Class 3-A Swimming Championships.
Speed qualified for the B final in the 500-yard freestyle, where he finished fourth in 4 minutes, 37.50 seconds. That gave him a 12th-place finish overall. He came into the event seeded 13th. North Allegheny's Rick Mihm won the event in 4:24.02.
Northeastern's Abby O'Leary finished 21st in diving with 147.45 points, but did not qualify for the semifinals or finals. O'Leary was seeded 18th. North Penn teammates Paige Burrell and Meghan Wenzel tied for the event title, each with a total of 465.50.
Dallastown Logan Brockway, who finished seventh on Wednesday in the 200 individual medley, settled for a 22nd-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 52.50 seconds. He was seeded 21st. Conestoga's Brendan Burns won the event in 46.93 seconds.
In the 100 breaststroke, Dallastown's Thomas Riley finished 24th in 59.78 seconds. He entered the event seeded 28th. Upper St. Clair's Josh Matheny won the event in 54.55 seconds.
On Wednesday, the South Western 200 medley relay team finished 21st in 1:38.24. The Mustangs were seeded 21st.
Suburban rolls in boys' tennis: The York Suburban boys' tennis team rolled to a 5-0 victory at Spring Grove on Thursday.
The Trojans received singles victories from Parker Lamp, Drew Thompson and Liam Waterbury. Jordan Ohl and Augustine Huh won the No. 1 doubles match, while Michael Gilbert and Robbie Bell won the No. 2 doubles match.
