SWIMMING, Dover, Cedar Cliff split


The Dover and Cedar Cliff swimming teams split a pair of non-league meets on Monday at Dover.


The Eagles rolled to the boys' win, 121-55, while Cedar Cliff took the girls' meet, 97-89.

In the boys' meet, Dover won 11 of the 12 events. Seniors Casey Marshall and Hunter Link each had big efforts, with each swimming to first place in the four events in which they competed. Marshall finished first in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and then was also part of the first-place 200 medley relay and 400 free relay teams. Link swam to first in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, as well as being part of the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay teams.

In the girls' meet, the Eagles lost the first 11 events of the meet, but did win the 400 free relay to close out the meet against the Colts. The winning team in that 400 free relay for Dover consisted of three freshmen – Grace Beierschmitt, Madelynn Kinard and Annie Long – and one junior, Lindsay Brenneman, swimming to the victory in 4 minutes, 08.18 seconds.


Spring Grove 86, Shippensburg 85: At Spring Grove, Corey Roberts (200 free, 100 back) and Grae Elliot (100 fly, 500 free) led the Rockets to the non-league victory by each taking two first-places apiece.


Shippensburg 90, Spring Grove 86: At Spring Grove, the Rockets received two individual wins apiece from Abigayle Keating (200 free, 500 free) and Mackenzie Miller (200 IM, 100 back).
