York Suburban's Gross will swim in college for Duquesne
York Suburban High School senior swimmer Carson Gross has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for NCAA Division I Duquesne University.
Duquesne, which is located in Pittsburgh, competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Gross won the 200 freestyle title at last year's PIAA Class AA state championship meet in a time of 1 minute, 51.71 seconds. She was the only York-Adams swimmer to win a state gold medal in 2015.
Gross was also the District 3-AA champ in the 200 free and won a silver medal in the 500 free, the same event in which she placed seventh in the state. The junior also posted top-three times during the York-Adams season in five events.
Gross swam on the district champion 400 free relay team and the second-place 200 medley relay team. Those teams went on to place fourth and sixth, respectively, at the PIAA meet.
She helped Suburban win the District 3-AA team championship.
