Eastern York's hopes of returning to the state playoffs for a second-straight season were dashed Wednesday in heart-breaking fashion in a win-or-go-home game.

The seventh-seeded Golden Knights held a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh before fourth-seeded Bishop McDevitt rallied for three runs to earn a 6-5 victory in the District 3 Class 4-A third-place game. The winning run scored on a two-run walk-off homer by McDevitt's Alyssa Harhigh.

The loss ends Eastern's season at 14-7. McDevitt (19-4) advances to the state playoffs.

Morgan Winter doubled and had three RBIs for the Knights, while Kathernine Lehman added two hits a run scored.

Maelynn Leber pitched a complete game for Eastern, allowing five earned runs and striking out six.
