SOFTBALL: After first Y-A loss, K-D rebounds in big way


The Kennard-Dale softball team suffered its first York-Adams League loss on Monday.

The Rams bounced back in a big way on Tuesday, pounding out a 14-1 five-inning, mercy-rule win over Hanover.

First-place K-D improved to 11-2 overall and 11-1 in Y-A Division III. The win came one day after a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to Eastern York.

Alexis Hurley pitched a complete game to get the win, allowing five hits, while striking out seven and walking one.

The Rams' offensive leaders were Marguerite DeFranco (double, three RBIs, three runs), Jaedyn McKeon (two hits, two RBIs, three runs), Kristen Stewart (two hits, RBI, three runs), Amber Belt (two hits) and Lexie Kopko (two RBIs, hit, run).


Northeastern 15, Bermudian Springs 0: At Manchester, Haley Updegraff, Peyton Eckenrode and Belle Bortner each had multi-hit games to power the Bobcats to victory.
