John Fetterman wins Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania primary election

SOFTBALL: Central York tops Red Lion, improves to 17-0


Rachel Butler went 2 for 3, including a triple, with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead Central York to a 6-4 softball victory at Red Lion on Thursday afternoon.

Also for Central, Cameryn Rothrock went 2 for 2, including a double, with two RBIs; Erin Cabry went 2 for 4 with one RBI; and Madelyne Snyder went 1 for 1 with two runs scored.


Courtney Coppersmith started the game on the mound for Central and threw four shutout innings, striking out seven and walking one to pick up the win.

For the Lions, Taylor Radziewicz went 3 for 4, including a triple.

The Panthers improved to 12-0 in York-Adams Division I and 17-0 overall.


Hanover 5, York Tech 1: At Spry, Sara Durika led the Hawkettes by throwing a complete game on the mound, striking out seven and walking one. For the Spartans, Alexis Fournier went 2 for 3, while Lindsay McWilliams threw a complete game on the mound, striking out six, walking six and allowing just two earned runs.

Fairfield 17, York Catholic 0 (3 Innings): At Fairfield, Ryleigh Bolyard led the Green Knights by going 2 for 2 at the plate, including a double, with two RBIs. For the Irish, Samantha Schwaub had a single, the only hit for the visitors.
