Alexis Valentine pitched a complete-game five-hitter to carry the visiting Kennard-Dale softball team to a 13-2 victory over Bermudian Springs on Wednesday.

Valentine struck out seven and walked one in a game shortened to six innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Valentine also had two hits at the plate, while Kaila Beach doubled and had two RBIs for the Rams.

Bermudian pitchers surrendered 17 walks.

The Rams improved to 11-6 overall and 10-3 in York-Adams Division III.

OTHER SOFTBALL

Gettysburg 7, Northeastern 1: At Gettysburg, Shanna Martin pitched a six-hit complete game for the Warriors, striking out four and walking four to get the win. She also doubled at the plate and scored two runs. Bri Crushong (three hits, two RBIs, one run) and Taylor Mummert (double, homer, four RBIs, run) paced Gettysburg's offense. Belle Bortner pitched a complete game for Northeastern, striking out six and allowing one walk and five earned runs. Taylor Sanger and Ashlie Kohr had doubles for the Bobcats.

South Western 3, Spring Grove 1: At Spring Grove, Hannah Sterrett pitched a complete-game four-hitter for the Mustangs, striking out four without a walk. Julia Wivell also pitched a complete game for Spring Grove, striking out seven with three walks. Julia Fraim doubled for South Western.
