SOFTBALL: York Suburban picks up key win vs. Eastern


York Suburban stayed in the thick of the York-Adams Division III softball race on Monday with a key 7-3 victory at Eastern York.

Olivia Eytcheson picked up the complete-game win, allowing five hits and striking out five.


Madelyn Peters had three hits for the Trojans, while Zoe Prats and and Alexis Jury each added two hits. Susan Lloyd scored two runs.

Suburban improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in D-III. Eastern fell to 4-5 and 2-2.

Kiersten Grove and Haidyn Shaffer each had two hits for Eastern.


Dover 11, West York 1: At Dover, Taylor Lamparter pitched a complete-game five-hitter for the Eagles, while also going 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs. Dover's other hitting leaders were Natalie Cutright (three hits, including her 100th career hit, double, three RBIs), Cierra Hockensmith (three hits), Cassandra Root (two hits, triple, three RBIs), Jordan Baum (two hits, double, two RBIs) and Alyssa Lawton (two hits). Dover improved to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in York-Adams Division II. Gabby Ilyes and Paige Weekly each had two hits for West York.

South Western 12, Red Lion 11 (11 innings): At Red Lion, Gabby Newman recorded a double and a triple in helping the Mustangs edge their hosts in extra innings. Bailey Moses also had a double and a triple for South Western. Taylor Radziewicz homered and doubled for Red Lion.

Central York 10, Spring Grove 1: At Spring Grove, Rachel Butler drove in a game-high four runs for the Panthers, while Lorna Colberg and Kara Lorden each drove in two. Caraline Cornman provided the only offense for Spring Grove. Central improved to 9-0 overall.

Dallastown 12, New Oxford 0 (5 Innings): At Dallastown, Maggee Noll led the Wildcats with three singles. Also for Dallastown, Jaelynn Harbold, Lyndee Anders, Delaney Kolb and Madisyn Johnson each hit two singles. Harbold also picked up the victory, pitching four scoreless innings, striking out six and walking one. Dallastown improved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in York-Adams Division I.

Susquehannock 14, Gettysburg 2 (5 Innings): At Gettysburg, Maddy Staub led the visitors by banging two doubles, while collecting five RBIs and scoring two runs. Also for Susquehannock, Mallory Lebo went 3 for 4 with four runs scored, Lily Yoakum went 3 for 3, including a double, with three runs scored and two RBIs, and Lexi Morin went 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Megan Green got the complete-game win on the mound, allowing just two hits, while striking out six and walking two. Susquehannock improved to 9-0. overall.

York Tech 10, Hanover 6: At Hanover, Lindsey McWilliams led the Spartans individually by throwing a complete game on the mound, striking out nine and walking two. Teammate Brooke Glass hit a double.

Fairfield 21, York Catholic 0 (3 innings): At York Catholic, the Green Knights erupted for 15 runs in the top of the third to end the game early. Ryleigh Bolyard and Gena Eiker each had home runs for Fairfield, while Courtney Harbaugh and Laikyn Boring combined to hold York Catholic hitless.
