SOFTBALL: Spring Grove rallies for late triumph
Spring Grove plated a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Wednesday to capture a 3-2 softball victory over visiting New Oxford.
Hailey Kessinger got the win in relief after entering the game in the sixth inning.
Spring Grove's Alyson Dietz had a double for the only extra-base hit of the game. There were only nine total hits in the contest.
Alanna Molz had 13 strikeouts in a complete-game loss for New Oxford.
Spring Grove improved to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in York-Adams Division I. New Oxford fell to 0-4 and 0-3.
Dallastown 8, South Western 7 (8 Innings): At Dallastown, the Wildcats broke a 7-7 tie, when they plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth to win the divisional match-up. Krista Flemmens led the Wildcats with a homer, while teammate Delaney Kolb pitched two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the victory. Dallastown improved to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in York-Adams Division I. South Western fell to 0-4 and 0-3.
Biglerville 7, York Tech 2: At Biglerville, Courtney Taylor led the Canners by connecting for three hits, including a double, and picking up four RBIs.
