YORK-ADAMS SOFTBALL: Dover outlasts Spring Grove for eight-inning triumph

Dover 8, Spring Grove 7 (8 Innings): At Dover, Cassandra Root's one-out, bases-loaded RBI single in the bottom of the eighth scored Alyssa Lawton from third to clinch the Eagles' victory. Lawton started the inning off with a single, stole second and later moved over on an sacrifice to get into position to score. Root finished 4-for-5, including a double, with two RBIs, while Lawton went 4-for-5. Also for Dover, Natalie Cutright went 3-for-4, including a double, with four RBIs; Meghan Goodman went 3-for-4; and Taylor Lamparter had a three-run triple. For the Rockets, Julia Wivell went 2-for-4, including a two-run homer, while Jayme Hoover went 2-for-3. First-place Dover improved to 7-2 in York-Adams Division II and 9-4 overall.

Central 16, Susquehannock 2 (5 Innings): At Glen Rock, the Panthers plated 12 runs in the top of the third en route to the win. Rachel Butler led the Panthers with two homers, four RBIs and three runs scored. Also for Central, Kyla Caruso went 3-for-3, including a homer and a double, with three runs and two RBIs; Kelsey Wisner went 2-for-3, including a double, with two RBIs and two runs; Briannah Dobson went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs; Monica Albers went 2-for-4; and Haley Klunk went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs. For the Warriors, Kristi Langhans went 2-for-2. Central improved to 8-1 in York-Adams Division I and 10-1 overall. Susquehannock fell to 5-4 in Division II and 7-5 overall.

York Suburban 15, York Catholic 0 (3 innings): At Suburban, the home team rolled behind a three-inning no-hitter from Olivia Eytcheson. She struck out four and walked none. She also had a homer and two RBIs. Suburban also got big offensive games from Hannah Taylor (2-for-3, three RBIs, two runs), Susan Lloyd (2-for-3), Emily Turybury (2-for-3, two RBIs), Jessica Clancy (homer, three runs scored) and Alexis Jury (2-for-2, double).

Kennard-Dale 14, Biglerville 4: At Fawn Grove, the first-place Rams improved to 11-1 overall and 8-0 in York-Adams Division III. Alexis Valentine pitched a complete-game six-hitter, striking out two and walking one. The Rams pounded out 17 hits, including doubles by Valentine, Kaila Beach, Nicole McCleary, Jessica Rubelmann and Megan Gereny.
