The Kennard-Dale softball team continued its impressive start to the 2015 season on Wednesday with a 7-3 non-league victory over Susquehannock in Fawn Grove.

The Rams improved 4-0 while the Warriors fell to 3-2. K-D has now beaten three teams that won York-Adams division titles a year ago — Susquehannock, Dallastown and Delone Catholic.

Kaila Beach (2-for-2, double, walk, two RBIs), Rhiannon McGlone (3-for-4) and Katelyn Mayle (two RBIs) led K-D. Alexis Valentine pitched a complete game to get the win on the mound, striking out seven and walking two. Maddy Staub went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Susquehannock.

OTHER SOFTBALL

Central 15, Waynesboro 3 (5 Innings): At Waynesboro, Kelsey Wisner led the Panthers, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kelsey Shifflett (2-for-3, three runs), Haley Klunk (2-for-3, double, two runs), Briannah Dobson (2-for-2), Rachel Butler (2-for-4, two RBIs), Lorna Colberg (2-for-4, triple, two RBIs), Kayla Resh (2-for-4) and Kyla Caruso (three runs) also excelled for Central. Butler also picked up the win on the mound in her pitching debut, allowing three hits.

Delone Catholic 21, York Catholic 0: At York, Katie Laughman pitched a two-hitter and went 2-for-4 with a grand slam to lead the Squirettes. Cassie Rickrode homered twice for Delone. Also homering for Delone were Shelbee Holcomb and Mikayla McCleaf. Liz Lynch tripled for York Catholic.

Big Spring 8, Northeastern 5: At Big Spring, Sophia Noll went 2-for-3 with a solo home run for the Bobcats. Teammate Krista Anderson went 2-for-4, also adding an RBI and a run scored.
