SOCCER: Dallastown, Central York set for boys' showdown

Dallastown remained unbeaten in York-Adams Division I boys' soccer action on Tuesday with a 1-0 triumph over rival Red Lion.

The Wildcats improved to 5-0 in the division. Red Lion fell to 3-3.

Carter Miller scored the game's only goal in the second half off an assist from Braiden Christie.

A.J. Lentz had to make just one save to record the shutout in goal. Brock Gould had three saves for Red Lion.

Dallastown will now visit Central York in a Division I showdown on Thursday night. The Panthers are also 5-0 in the division after beating New Oxford on Tuesday, 4-0.

In that game, Trace Becker scored twice for Central, while Pierrce Miller and Evan Smeltzer also scored. Zak Kakos, Nate Hubbs and Carter Luckenbaugh provided assists. Kameron Stoll made four saves to record the shutout.

Susquehannock 3, Eastern York 0: At Wrightsville, Colton Mumley scored all three goals for the Warriors. Lucas Miller had two assists, while Xander Hollway had one. The Warriors improved to 5-0 in York-Adams Division II.

Northeastern 2, South Western 1: At Northeastern, Hayden Seifert scored with 12 minutes left to play as the Bobcats hung on for the victory. Seifert also scored in the first half to make it 1-0 Bobcats early. Lance Fries had an assist and Damon Faulkner recorded seven saves for Northeastern.

Gettysburg 4, York Suburban 1: At York Suburban, a Matt Yingling hat trick powered the Warriors to the road victory.

West York 6, Dover 1: At Dover, the visitors rolled to victory. No other details were reported.

GIRLS' SOCCER

Dallastown 2, Red Lion 1: At Red Lion, the Wildcats scored the game’s final two goals in the second half to down the rival Lions. Skyler Wilt equalized the game at 1-1 with a goal with less than 13 mintues to play and Lily Jamison scored the winner with just more than two minutes left in action. Madison Kling scored the only goal for Red Lion, coming midway through the second half, to give her team a 1-0 lead. Dallastown improved to 5-0 in York-Adams Division I. Red Lion fell to 4-2.

Northeastern 3, South Western 2: At Hanover, the Bobcats rallied from 2-0 halftime deficit to earn the win. Brittany Arentz scored Northeastern's final two goals. Abby Osborn had the Bobcats' other score. Rachel Reeser made five saves to get the win in goal.

Susquehannock 3, Eastern York 0: At Glen Rock, Taylor Tannura scored all three goals for the Warriors. Kelsey McCullough and Sam McGuire had assists. Maggie Sisler made four saves to record the shutout. The Warriors improved to 5-0 in York-Adams Division II.

Central York 6, New Oxford 0: At Pleasureville, Bre Sgrignoli scored four of Central’s goals, while Lynsey Nicholas and Chloe Carns also chipped in with one apiece. The Panthers outshot New Oxford 28-2.

West York 1, Dover 0: At West York, Brionna Smith scored with just under 14 minutes to play to earn the winning goal, assisted by Gabby Smith. Both teams had six shots on goal and Dover held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks, but couldn’t capitalize on any of them.

Gettysburg 2, York Suburban 0: At Gettysburg, the home team won by a shutout. No other details were reported.
