In a triple-overtime thriller between a pair of traditional York-Adams League girls' lacrosse powers, York Catholic edged Kennard-Dale on Tuesday night in Fawn Grove.

The Lady Irish came into the game at 0-2 after opening with losses to two other traditional powers — Susquehannock and Manheim Township — and desperately needed a win.

That's what they got, and in dramatic fashion when Kayleigh Pokrivka scored 16 seconds into the third overtime.

Amanda Fufano (five goals, assist), Sarah Mazzur (two goals, assist) and Anna Linthicum (goal, assist) paced York Catholic's attack.

K-D, which was coming off a dominant 26-6 season-opening win at Red Lion, was led by Morgan Bowings (three goals, assist), Emmie Dressel (two goals, two assists), Megan Halczuk (three goals) and Gillian Zimmerman (two goals, assist).

Kristen Lake had eight saves for York Catholic, while Maria Schneider had 12 saves for K-D.
