PREP: Big night for York County ice hockey programs


The Central York ice hockey team rolled past Manheim Central in Central Penn Interscholastic Hockey League Tier 2 action on Monday night, winning 10-0 at York City Ice Arena.

The Panthers (3-4) scored early and often against Manheim Central (1-6). The Panthers outshot Manheim Central 42-8 on the night and saw 10 different players score goals. Jacob Nagy led the team with a four-point game, posting a goal and three assists, while Max Wertman, Anthony Tranchitella and Jordan Kline each had three-point games.

Susquehannock shuts out Lampeter-Strasburg in ice hockey: The Susquehannock Warriors rolled to 7-0 CPIHL Tier 3 win over Lampeter-Strasburg at Lancaster Ice Rink.

The win improved Susquehannock to 5-1. Lampeter-Strasburg fell to 0-7. Alan Reider, Elijah Emenheiser and Timothy Schwensen each had two goals for the Warriors, while Ian Smith tallied the other. Reider finished with a team-high four points, tacking on two assists. Hayden Folfas needed only seven saves to earn the shutout.

Red Lion Christian splits in basketball: The Red Lion Christian girls' basketball team earned a 42-18 triumph over visiting Twin Valley Bible on Monday.

Destiny Hollingshead led the Swordsmen with a game-high 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. The RLC girls improved to 3-0.

Twin Valley beat the RLC boys, 56-39. Brad Sweitzer led the Swordsmen with 18 points. Teammate Myles Willard knocked in 13 points. The RLC boys fell to 1-3.
