The Central York ice hockey team lost 4-3 to Manheim Township on Monday night in CPIHL Tier 2 action at York City Ice Arena.

Tied 3-3 late in the third period, Township's (4-1) Braden Rishell scored the game-winning goal with 5:15 to play to put the visitor's up by one, a lead that would hold as the final. The goal for Rishell completed his hat-trick.

The Panthers (2-3) led 2-1 after the first period and were tied with Manheim Township 3-3 after the second period.

Jiri Nagy, Sean Barbaand Maxwell Wertman each scored for Central York, while Thomas Knapp had the only multi-point game for the Panthers, tallying two assists. Jordan Kline and Chase Wagner also had assists.

Goalie Griffin Long made 29 saves on 33 shots for the Panthers, while Manheim Township's goalie Jared Gordon stopped 34 of 37 shots.

Warriors handed first loss of season: The Susquehannock ice hockey team dropped a 10-5 result to the Shamrocks on Monday night in CPIHL Tier 3 action at Twin Ponds East, dealing the Warriors their first loss of the year.

After trailing just 1-0 after the first period, Susquehannock's defense struggled, allowing nine goals over the final two frames. The Shamrocks (4-1) scored four times in the second period and then five more times in the third to hold off a potent Warriors (4-1) offense. Susquehannock scored twice in the second period to enter the third period down 5-2 and then added three goals in the third.

Cody Smith scored twice for the Warriors to lead the team, while Alan Reider had a goal and assist to record a multi-point effort.

With the loss, Susquehannock, Shamrocks and MSMCC are now all tied for first place in the Tier 3 standings with 4-1 records and eight points.
