GOLF: Dover clinches Division II title with sixth win


The Dover golf team won it sixth straight York-Adams Division II match to open the year, clinching the Division II title, shooting a four-man team score of 324 at Cool Creek Golf Course in Wrightsville on Thursday.

The Eagles remained unbeaten on the season, thanks to a 79 by Cody Bowers, the low player on the team. Also for Dover, Logan Snyder and Trevor Staub each shot 81s, while Dylan Spahr fired an 83. York Suburban wound up taking second in the match, shooting a team score of 346, 22 strokes behind Dover. Susquehannock finished third with a 351, while host school Eastern York finished fourth with a 356.

As in every match this season, the Golden Knights' Zach Dixon finished in first place individually, shooting a 74. He was followed by Bowers' 79, the only two players to break 80. Snyder and Staub tied for third with their 81s,
