Central York sews up York-Adams Division I golf championship

Central York sewed up the York-Adams Division I golf championship on Monday with another dominating performance.

The Panthers finished with a 295 total the Bridges Golf Club near Abbottstown to finish 30 shots ahead of second-place Dallastown (325). Spring Grove was third at 330.

Central improved to 36-0-0 on the season with just one division match remaining on Wednesday at Hanover Country Club. Spring Grove is second at 27-9-0, but can't catch the Wildcats. Dallastown is third at 24-12-0.

Matt Bricker led the way for the Panthers with a 4-under-par 68 total. Two of his teammates also broke 80 — Gus Minkin at 72 and Connor Bacha at 75. Two other Central golfers — Julianne Lee and Joe Parrini — shot 80s. The other golfers to break 80 on the day were: Dallastown's Blake Sebring at 74, New Oxford's Justin Gruver at 76, Dallastown's Evan Greenplate at 78 and New Oxford's Mike Robinson at 78.

Central has also sewn up a berth in the York-Adams League Team Tournament on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Briarwood. The Panthers will take on Division II champion Eastern York and Division III champion York Catholic.
