GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: Central York sweeps New Oxford, stays alone atop York-Adams Division I

  • Central York rolled to a 3-0 victory at New Oxford on Tuesday.
  • The first-place Panthers improved to 5-1 in York-Adams Division I.
  • Linnea Prudell (25 assists), Alexa Shorts (eight kills) and Emily Wilt (six kills) paced Central.

Central York remained alone in first place in York-Adams Division I girls' volleyball with a 25-13, 25-14, 25-15 triumph at New Oxford on Tuesday, Sept. 26.


The Panthers improved to 5-1 in the division. 

Linnea Prudell (25 assists), Alexa Shorts (eight kills) and Emily Wilt (six kills) paced Central.

New Oxford won the JV match, 2-1.



West York 3, York High 0: At York, the powerhouse Bulldogs rolled, 25-10, 25-8, 25-2. The Bulldogs improved to 11-1 overall and 7-0 in York-Adams Division II. West York also won the JV match, 2-0.

York Catholic 3, Hanover 0: At York, the Irish cruised 25-14, 25-16, 25-12. Emily Hoffman (10 kills, 14 digs), Megan Daugherty (27 assists, eight digs) and McKenna Walker (31 digs) paced York Catholic. The Irish won the JV match, 2-0.

York Suburban 3, Kennard-Dale 0: At Suburban, the Trojans triumphed, 25-14, 25-11, 25-5. Lauren Guyer (18 assists), Chey Buckingham (six kills) Lulu Mooney (nine aces, five digs) and Eryn McBride (eight digs) paced the winners. Andrea Wolf (four digs) led K-D. Suburban won the JV match, 2-0.

South Western 3, Spring Grove 0: At Spring Grove, the Rockets fell, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21. Both teams entered the match at 3-2 in York-Adams Division I. Megan Wolf led the Mustangs with 10 kills and 23 digs. Teammate Madisyn McMaster had 29 assists, eight digs, four kills and three aces. For the Rockets, Kendra Miller had eight kills, 10 digs and three blocks. Hailey Marcionette had 17 digs and nine assists, while Skye Wolf had seven kills and four digs. South Western won the JV match, 2-1.

Eastern York 3, Northeastern 0: At Wrightsville, the Golden Knights won, 25-21, 25-18, 25-16. Brooke LaCesa led the Knights with 11 kills and three digs. Teammates Katie Lehman had 15 digs and 14 assists, Morgan Dobbeck had 11 digs and Shelby Hildebrand had five digs and five assists. Northeastern won the JV match, 2-0.

Dover 3, Red Lion 1: At Red Lion, the Eagles went on the road and downed the Lions, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22. Dover was led by Chayce Hoffman’s 22 kills, 14 digs and five aces, while Abby Diehl had 14 digs and five aces and Emma Nace picked up 13 digs. Red Lion got 18 assists from Maddie Grim, 14 digs from Jenna Enfield and seven kills and five blocks from Ashley Baughman. Red Lion swept the JV match, 2-0.
