York-Adams volleyball teams learn district seedings

  • Twelve York-Adams teams have earned District 3 girls' volleyball playoff berths.
  • Red Lion is seeded No. 1 in Class 4-A, while Delone Catholic is No. 1 in Class 2-A.
  • West York earned the No. 2 seed in the Class 3-A field.

The York-Adams League will send a dozen teams into the District 3 Girls' Volleyball Tournament, including a pair of No. 1 seeds, a No. 2 seed and two No. 3 seeds.

In the 16-team Class 4-A field, Red Lion (15-2) is seeded No. 1, followed by Central York (11-3) at No. 3, Dallastown (14-5) at No. 8 and South Western (8-8) at No. 14. Red Lion and Central shared the York-Adams Division I title.

In the 16-team Class 3-A bracket, West York (19-1) earned the No. 2 seed behind No. 1 Garden Spot (14-1). The other York-Adams teams in Class 3-A are Susquehannock (13-4) at No. 7, York Suburban (11-5) at No. 8 and Gettysburg (11-7) at No. 15. West York went unbeaten en route to the York-Adams Division II championship.

In the six-team Class 2-A playoffs, Delone Catholic (15-1) captured the No. 1 seed, followed by York Catholic (13-4) at No. 3, Littlestown (9-7) at No. 5 and Hanover (10-7) at No. 6. Delone had a perfect record en route to winning the York-Adams Division III crown. York Catholic won the District 3 Class 1-A title a year ago, but was bumped up to Class 2-A when the girls' volleyball playoffs were expanded from three classes to four classes for this season.

Playoff action in Class 4-A and Class 3-A starts Saturday, while the Class 2-A and Class 1-A playoffs start Tuesday, Nov. 1.
