GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: West York stays unbeaten in D-II

West York remained perfect in York-Adams League Division II girls' volleyball action on Tuesday with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 victory over Eastern York in Wrightsville.

The first-place Bulldogs improved to 11-0 in the division.


Abbey James had 26 assists for West York, while Trilby Kite had 15 digs and Kate Tate and Tesia Thomas had eight kills each. Natalie Grim had eight digs for Eastern and Liz Pyles had six assists.

The Bulldogs won the JV match, 2-1.



Dallastown 3, New Oxford 0: At Dallastown, the Wildcats won the match, 25-20, 27-25, 25-18. Gabby Ream led the Wildcats with 32 assists, nine digs, four blocks, three aces and three kills. Also for Dallastown, Olivia Terroso had nine kills and three blocks, Delaney Kolb had nine kills and Lydia Stump had four kills and five digs. For the Colonials, Wren Berry had 20 assists and five digs, while Madi Smith had six kills. Dallastown won the JV match, 25-23, 25-13.

Red Lion 3, Spring Grove 1: At Spring Grove, the Lions won, 25-10, 24-26, 25-16, 25-17. Lauren Enfield led the Lions with 12 kills, 11 digs and 10 aces. Also for the Lions, Logan Dontell had 15 kills, seven digs, four aces and three blocks, Lindsey Blevins had 11 kills, 11 digs and three aces and Maddie Grim had 10 digs and 36 assists. First-place Red Lion improved to 8-1 in York-Adams Division I action. For the Rockets, Josie Attig had 19 assists and nine digs, while Lexi Yingling had 22 digs and Kendra Miller had five kills. Spring Grove won the JV match, 26-25, 24-22.

York Suburban 3, York High 0: At Suburban, the Trojans rolled, 25-9, 25-14, 25-9. Georgia DuMars had 30 assists and six aces for Suburban, while Alex Babinchak had 12 digs. Emoni Perkiss had seven digs for York High. The Trojans won the JV match, 2-0.

Central York 3, South Western 1: At Hanover, the Panthers rallied over the Mustangs, 21-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-16. Central’s Ashley Gallagher had 12 digs and 10 kills, while Emma Saxton finished with 26 assists. Kaitlyn Chell had 16 digs for South Western, while Bonna Sheehan had 19 assists and Ali St. Rose had 12 kills and 11 digs. The Panthers won the JV match, 2-1.

Delone Catholic 3, Littlestown 0: At McSherrystown, the Division III-leading Squirettes rolled, 25-10, 25-20, 25-16. Delone got 14 kills from Claire Kaufmann, while Chloe Kindig had 22 assists and 12 digs. Kayla Ewart also had 12 digs, while Karigen Emig added 11 of her own. Littlestown was led by Emily Staub’s 10 assists and nine kills, while Hanna Riley had six digs and four kills. The Squirettes also won the JV match, 2-0.

Hanover 3, York Tech 0: At Spry, the Nighthawks swept the Spartans, 25-12, 25-5, 25-21. MaryBeth Diaz led Tech with five kills and Grace Graham had eight assists. Brooke Glass had eight digs. Hanover got six aces from Maria Drawbaugh and Lexi Daley had 19 assists. The Nighthawks won the JV match, 2-0.

York Catholic 3, Bermudian Springs 0: At York Catholic, Abby Pilkey had eight kills, McKenna Walker posted 12 digs and Megan Daugherty recorded 20 assists as the Irish won 25-18, 25-22, 25-23.

Gettysburg 3, Northeastern 0: At Manchester, the Warriors cruised, 25-18, 25-10, 25-15. Sammi Faloon (six kills, five digs), Tess Lampe (six kills) and Alexis Tomassini (23 assists) led the winners. Sam Lowe and Jackie Kurilla each had nine digs for Northeastern.
