GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: West York rolls to another triumph

  • West York beat Kennard-Dale on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-9, 25-1.
  • The Bulldogs are now 4-0 overall and 3-0 in York-Adams Division II.
  • Marisa Krinock led West York with 11 kills, while Abbey James added 23 assists.

West York continued its strong start to the 2016 girls' volleyball season on Tuesday with a 25-12, 25-9, 25-1 triumph at Kennard-Dale.

The Buldogs are now 4-0 overall and 3-0 in York-Adams Division II action.


Marisa Krinock (11 kills), Trillby Kite (10 digs), Abbey James (23 assists) and Tailyn Kite (seven aces) led West York. K-D was paced by Jess Moore and Megan Gereny, who each had seven digs.

West York won the JV match, 25-5, 25-19.



Dallastown 3, Central York 2: At Dallastown, the Wildcats won the Division I match, 8-25, 26-24, 25-21, 21-25, 15-10. Delaney Kolb led the Wildcats with 21 kills. Also for the Wildcats, Lydia Stump had nine kills and nine digs, Gabby Ream had 38 assists and Olivia Terroso had eight kills. For the Panthers, Ashley Gallagher had 10 kills and 10 digs, Kamryn Stambaugh had 15 kills, four aces and five blocks and Emma Saxton had 11 digs and 38 assists. Dallastown won the JV match, 20-25, 27-25, 15-13.

York Suburban 3, Gettysburg 2: At Suburban, Ali Reinecker posted eight kills and 12 digs as the Trojans defeated their guests, 25-20, 27-25, 25-21. Georgia DuMars added 17 digs and 26 assists to the winning cause. Emma Harvey had 27 digs for the Warriors.

Eastern York 3, York High 0: At Wrightsville, the Golden Knights won the match, 25-15, 25-13, 25-9. Brooke LeCesa led the home team with 13 kills. Also for Eastern, Katie Lehman had 18 assists, Olivia Koicuba had five kills and four aces and Liz Pyles had three kills and five aces. For the Bearcats, Mariagely Candelario had four digs and four assists, Wilmarie Ortiz had four kills and Emani Perkiss had four digs. Eastern York won the JV match, 2-0.

Susquehannock 3, Northeastern 0: At Northeastern, Jaden Walker had seven kills and five digs, while Amber Switzerland added 18 assists as the Warriors won 25-19, 25-23, 25-15. Natalie Martin had 17 assists and Shayna Dozier had 15 digs for Northeastern.

South Western 3, Dover 2: At South Western, Emma Davis had 17 kills to go along with five blocks and two aces as the Mustangs won, 24-26, 25-22, 15-25, 25-16, 15-5. Abby Diehl added 29 assists, 15 digs and four kills for South Western. Madisyn McMaster posted 12 kills, 15 assists and six digs for Dover. Teammate Bonna Sheehan added 20 more assists.

Hanover 3, Bermudian Springs 0: At York Springs, the Nighthawks swept the Eagles, 25-14, 17-25, 22-25. Hanover’s Alexa Merrel and Maria Draubaugh each had seven kills, while Lexi Daley had 24 assists and Kelsey Staub served five aces. For Bermudian, Kyleigh Lutz had three kills and McKenzie Jones had five digs.

Spring Grove 3, New Oxford 0: At Spring Grove, the home team grabbed the win, 25-10, 25-21, 25-15. Autumn Leese (11 kills, 13 digs), Josie Attig (31 assists, seven digs), Faith Shaffer (15 digs, seven kills), Lexi Yingling (15 digs) and Alyssa Carbaugh (12 digs) paced the winners. Spring Grove won the JV match, 25-10, 20-25, 15-7.

York County Tech 3, Fairfield 0: At Spry, the home team rolled to a 25-6, 25-17, 25-22 victory. No other details were reported.
