Six York-Adams players are all-state
Six York-Adams League girls have been named all-state by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association.
In Class AAA, Red Lion's Lindsey Blevins and Central York's Emily Poole were honored. Blevins is a 5-foot, 9-inch junior outside hitter, while Poole is a 6-foot senior outside hitter. Poole helped Central win the York-Adams Division I title and finish second in the District 3-AAA tournament, while Blevins led Red Lion to a second-place finish in Division I.
Four area girls made the AA team, led by a pair of seniors from league champion Delone Catholic — Katie Laughman, a 5-7 setter, and Sarah Senft, a 5-10 opposite hitter. The Squirettes also took the York-Adams Division III crown and finished second in the District 3-AA playoffs.
The other local players on the AA squad were Susquehannock's Laura Savin and York Suburban's Jordan Landis. Both Savin and Landis are 5-8 senior outside hitters. Savin's Warriors won the York-Adams Division II crown, while Landis' Trojans took second in the same division.
A total of 100 players were honored — 50 in AAA and 50 in AA.
The Class A all-state team has not yet been released.
