GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: Delone sweeps Susquehannock in battle of York-Adams powers

In a showdown of York-Adams League girls' volleyball division leaders, the Delone Catholic Squirettes swept past the Susquehannock Warriors on Wednesday night in Glen Rock, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.

Delone leads Division III, while Susquehannock is tied for the lead in Division II.

The Squirettes are the three-time defending York-Adams League champions.

Delone was paced by Katie Laughman (37 assists, 10 digs), Sarah Senft (10 kills, seven digs), Lilly Singleton (10 kills, five digs, five blocks) and Lexi Shanabrook (15 digs). Susquehannock was led by Kelly Franz (24 assists, 12 digs), Abby Ferraro (11 digs, nine kills) and Karah Sweitzer (20 digs).

Delone also won the JV match, 25-16, 25-16.

OTHER GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

York Suburban 3, Gettysburg 1: At Gettysburg, Ciara Buckingham led the Trojans to a 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20 Division II victory with 12 kills, four blocks and four digs. Also for Suburban, Jordan Landis had 10 kills and 20 digs, Georgia DuMars had 31 assists, 10 digs and three blocks and Emily Hamberger had 16 digs. Gettysburg's leaders were Jess Sandoe (27 digs, 10 kills), Myla Manahan (28 assists, seven digs) and Emma Harvey (24 digs). Suburban won the JV match, 11-25, 25-14, 15-10.

York Tech 3, York High 0: At York High, D'Shanna Edwards led the Spartans to the 25-20, 25-13, 25-23 victory with 11 kills and four aces. Also for Tech, Kirstyn Evans had 12 kills and three aces, Judy Barton had 11 kills and four digs and Dasjiah Owens had three aces. For the Bearcats, Cheyenne Bradford had six kills, Emoni Perkiss had three blocks and Jae Fetch had three blocks. Tech won the JV match, 25-23, 25-16.

Central York 3, Spring Grove 0: At Spring Grove, in a match from Tuesday, the Panthers rolled, 25-13, 25-19, 25-5. Emily Poole (15 kills), Hannah Rishel (13 digs) and Emma Saxton (32 assists) led Central. Spring Grove's leaders were: Josie Attig (13 assists, eight digs), Autumn Leese (17 digs) and Lexi Yingling (nine digs). Central won the JV match, 25-19, 19-25, 15-9.
