Teams from Dallastown and Kennard-Dale capture York-Adams girls' tennis doubles crowns
- Dallastown's Meghan Salaga and Grace Heird won the 3-A doubles title.
- Kennard-Dale's Brianna Miller and Megan Hawkins took the 2-A doubles crown.
The top-seeded teams lived up to their advance billing on Tuesday afternoon at the York-Adams League girls' tennis doubles tournaments.
The Dallastown duo of Meghan Salaga and Grace Heird earned the Class 3-A championship, while the Kennard-Dale combo of Brianna Miller and Megan Hawkins captured the 2-A crown.
Salaga and Heird earned their title with a 6-3, 7-6 (1) triumph over Rachel Haupt and Audrey Stewart of Central York in the final. The Central team was seeded No. 2.
Miller and Hawkins, meanwhile, rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the 2-A championship match, beating the third-seeded team Delone Catholic featuring Madi Rollins and Olivia Roth.
The Red Lion team of Sophie Lanius and Emma Hively took third place in 3-A by beating the third-seeded team of Kasi Conjack and Molly Socks of New Oxford in a three-set thriller, 6-7 (8), 7-5, 7-5. Lanius and Hively came in as the No. 5 seed.
In the 3-A semifinals, Salaga and Heird beat Lanius and Hively, 6-3, 6-0, while Haupt and Stewart defeated Conjack and Socks, 6-4, 6-3.
In 2-A, the West York team of Alisa Steele and Lexi Sanderson took third with a 7-6 (7), 6-3 win vs. the fourth-seeded team from Kennard-Dale featuring Julie Rubelmann and Grace Maccarelli. Steele and Sanderson entered as the No. 2 seed.
In the 2-A semifinals, Miller and Hawkins downed Rubelmann and Maccarelli, 6-0, 6-1, while Rollins and Roth took down Steele and Sanderson, 6-7 (8), 6-1, 6-1.
