Dallastown’s Meghan Salaga and Kennard-Dale’s Brianna Miller have earned the top seeds for the upcoming York-Adams League singles tournaments.
Salaga is the No. 1 seed in Class 3-A, while Miller is No. 1 in 2-A. Salaga and Miller each finished fourth a year ago.
The other 3-A seeds are: Northeastern’s Jillian Laughman at No. 2, Central York’s Rachel Haupt at No. 3, South Western’s Emma Hynson at No. 4, Red Lion’s Sophie Lanius at No. 5, New Oxford’s Kasi Conjack at No. 6, Dallastown’s Grace Heird at No. 7 and Central York’s Audrey Stewart at No. 8.
Haupt and Stewart led Central York to an 11-1 overall mark and a York-Adams Division I championship.
The other 2-A seeds are: West York’s Alisa Steele at No. 2, Eastern York’s Evelyn Whiteside at No. 3, K-D’s Megan Hawkins at No. 4, Delone Catholic’s Olivia Roth at No. 5, K-D’s Brianna Serruto at No. 6, Delone’s Madi Rollins at No. 7 and Bermudian Springs’ Anne Miles at No. 8. Whiteside finished third in last year’s 2-A event.
Miller, Hawkins and Serruto powered the Rams to a 15-0 overall record and the program’s first-ever York-Adams League Division II title.
Doubles seeds: The Y-A doubles seeds were also released.
The 3-A doubles seeds are Dallastown’s Salaga and Heird at No. 1, Central’s Haupt and Stewart at No. 2, New Oxford’s Conjack and Molly Socks at No. 3, South Western’s Hynson and Sarah McCommas at No. 4, Red Lion’s Lanius and Emma Hively at No. 5, York Suburban’s Alex Clancy and Ini Ekaha at No. 6, Northeastern’s Laughman and Taylor Forry at No. 7 and Gettysburg’s Kaitlyn Then and Kim Heinzelmann at No. 8.
The 2-A doubles seeds are: K-D’s Miller and Hawkins at No. 1, West York’s Steele and Lexi Sanderson at No. 2, Delone’s Rollins and Roth at No. 3, K-D’s Julie Rubelmann and Grace Maccarelli at No. 4, West York’s Amara Weaver and Sadie Mikula at No. 5, York Catholic’s Ireland Brennan and Ella Linthicum at No. 6, K-D’s Shannon Fletcher and Tor Santoriello at No. 7 and Hanover’s Lexi Hippensteel and Michelle McDaniel at No. 8.
Event schedule: The singles tournament starts at 9 a.m. Thursday at Wisehaven for both classes. It was moved indoors because of the threat of rainy weather. It continues at 1 p.m. Friday at South Western for the quarterfinals and semifinals in both classes. The singles event concludes at 9 a.m. Saturday at South Western with the finals and consolations in both classes.
The doubles event starts at 2 p.m. Monday with the first two rounds at South Western (2-A) and Red Lion (3-A). The doubles event concludes at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Oxford with the semifinals, finals and consolations in both classes.
In case of inclement weather, the tournament will shift to Wisehaven.
