Dallastown, New Oxford advance to District 3 Class 3-A girls' tennis quarterfinals
- Dallastown beat Central York in District 3 3-A girls' tennis action, 3-0.
- New Oxford beat Donegal in District 3 3-A girls' tennis action, 4-1.
- Dallastown and New Oxford advanced to the District 3 3-A quarterfinals.
Two York-Adams League teams have advanced to the District 3 Class 3-A girls' tennis team quarterfinals.
No. 5 seed Dallastown moved on with a 3-0 victory over No. 12 seed Central York, while No. 6 seed New Oxford advanced with a 4-1 victory over No. 11 seed Donegal.
Both matches were played Thursday, Oct. 12, at Racquet Club West in Lancaster.
Dallastown will now take on No. 5 seed Hempfield at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, again at Racquet Club West.
New Oxford, meanwhile, will battle No. 3 seed Central Dauphin at 1:45 p.m. Monday at Hershey Racquet Club.
Both Hempfield and Central Dauphin had byes on Thursday.
In Dallastown's win, Meghan Salaga won at No. 1 singles and Taylor Jones won at No. 2 singles. Grace Heird and Dani Schoeppner triumphed at No. 2 doubles. All three wins came in straight sets. The other two matches were not completed, but the Wildcats were leading both when they were suspended.
In New Oxford's victory, Kamdyn Balko won at No. 1 singles in straight sets, while Maddie Markle won at No. 3 singles in three sets. New Oxford swept both doubles matches in straight sets behind the No. 1 team of Molly Socks and Eryn Little and the No. 2 team of Sarah Moyer and Emily Sterner.
