GIRLS' TENNIS: Doubles teams lead Northeastern to win

  • Northeastern improved to 4-2 in York-Adams Division I action.
  • Brynn MacDonald and Lindsey Lewis combined to win the No. 1 doubles match for Northeastern.
  • Mansi Patel and Kiera Cornish combined to win the No. 2 doubles match for Northeastern.

Northeastern captured both doubles matches en route to a 3-2 girls' tennis victory at Red Lion on Wednesday.

The Bobcats improved to 4-2 in York-Adams Division I action.

Brynn MacDonald and Lindsey Lewis combined to win the No. 1 match, while Mansi Patel and Kiera Cornish combined to win the No. 2 match. Teammate Courtnee Hoff won a singles match.

For the Lions, Tori Austin and Helen Zeidman each won a singles match.

Dallastown 5, Dover 0: At Dallastown, the Wildcats received straight-set singles victories from Christie Friedrich, Madi Reed and Morgan Kistler. In doubles, Meghan Salaga and Taylor Jones combined to win the No. 1 match, while Lindsay Sheaffer and Bri Smith won the No. 2 match. Dallastown improved to 6-0 in York-Adams Division I.

York Suburban 4, Bermudian Springs 1: At Suburban, the Trojans received straight-set singles victories from Samantha Clancy and Elizabeth Huh. In doubles, Maddie Lenker and Dilly O'Donnell won the No. 1 match, while Lucy Smith and Skylar Volz captured the No. 2 match. For the Eagles, Brooke Yurick won the No. 1 singles match.

Central York 5, South Western 0: At Central York, the Panthers received straight-set singles victories from Madison Mummert, Kara Holland and Elisabeth Ketterman. In doubles, Lily Richwine and Sarah Kohr combined to win the No. 1 match, while Daniella Feistritzer and Olivia Quartey won the No. 2 match.

Littlestown 3, West York 2: At West York, the Thunderbolts were the recipients of two forfeits. The only match Littlestown won by playing came in No. 1 doubles, and that came in three sets. Lydia Fairlamb won her singles match for West York, 6-0, 6-1, as did Kierseten Shelton, 6-1, 6-0.

Susquehannock 5, Gettysburg 0: At Glen Rock, the York County Warriors dropped just one set to win all five points. Susky got singles wins from Jessica McDonald, Julianne Cassady and Molly Hogan, while the doubles teams of Mia Kobylski/Kate Cramer and Jenny Sproul/Emily Ditt each won their matches 6-0, 6-0.

York Catholic 4, Biglerville 1: At Springettsbury Park, the Lady Irish swept the doubles matches behind the teams of Abby Drabik/Betsy Allen and Sadie Wurzbach/Carolyn Albright. Erin McBrairty and Mayra Hernandez earned singles points.

New Oxford 5, Spring Grove 0: At New Oxford, Dagney Markle, Brooke Moyer and Kamdyn Balko each won a singles match for the Colonials.
