GIRLS' TENNIS: Northeastern edges York Catholic


Northeastern outlasted York Catholic 3-2 in girls' tennis action on Thursday afternoon at Springettsbury Park.

The Bobcats won on the strength of singles victories by Evonne Qiu and Courtney Hoff. Qiu’s victory at No. 1 singles was the tightest match of the day, a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 victory against Annie Javitt.


Brynn MacDonald and Lindsey Myers teamed up to seal the match for Northeastern with a  doubles win. Erin McBriarty won at No. 2 singles for York Catholic.



Dover 4, Bermudian Springs 1: At York Springs, the York County Eagles captured both doubles matches, with Madyison Weaver and Laurel Manion winning the No. 1 match, while Emily Ewing and Mary Teaford won the No. 2 match. In singles, Joanne Ezibe and Anna Becker both won straight-set singles matches for Dover.

York Suburban 4, Biglerville 1: At Suburban, after dropping the No. 1 singles match, the Trojans rebounded nicely by winning out the rest of the way. Samantha Clancy and Elizabeth Huh earned singles victories for York Suburban. The team of Maddie Lenker and Dilly O’Donnell clinched the match with a doubles win.

Susquehannock 5, York Country Day 0: At Glen Rock, the Warriors received straight-set singles victories from Jessica McDonald, Julianne Cassady and Molly Hogan.
