The Spring Grove girls' tennis team opened its 2016 season with a 3-2 triumph at Biglerville on Tuesday in a non-divisional contest.
York-Adams League teams are using a new tennis format this season, featuring three singles matches and two doubles matches. An individual player can play in either singles or doubles, but not both.
Previously, York-Adams League teams used a format featuring five singles matches and two doubles matches, and individual players could compete in both singles and doubles.
On Tuesday, the Rockets captured both doubles matches. Rachel Worley and Serenity Sigben won the No. 1 match, while the Canners forfeited the No. 2 match. Spring Grove also picked up a singles victory from Libby Groft at No. 3.
