GIRLS' LACROSSE: Peyton Shima picks up her 200th career goal in Red Lion's win over Dover


Red Lion's Peyton Shima picked up her 200th career goal on Thursday in a 13-3 girls' lacrosse triumph over Dover.

Red Lion High School's Peyton Shima recently committed to continue her lacrosse career at Seton Hill University. In the front row, from left, are: Michael Shima (father), Peyton Shima and Misty Shima (mother). In the back, from left, are: Arnold Fritzius (Red Lion director of athletics) and Mark Shue (Red Lion principal).

Shima finished the game with five goals and two assists.

Sara Simms (four goals, assist), Kate Baker (goal, assist) and Kaiya Edwards (goal, assist) also had multiple-point games for the Lions.

Paige Lantz scored all three Dover goals.



Kennard-Dale 18, Central York 5: At Fawn Grove, the Rams improved to 9-1 overall and 7-1 in the York-Adams League. K-D was led by Megan Halczuk (three goals, three assists), Maddie Day (five goals, assist), Chloe Fornoff (three goals), Mackenzie Young (two goals, assist), Autumn Kraemer (two goals, assist), Morgan Bowings (goal, assist) and Eden Sterner (goal, assist). Hannah Cunningham (two goals), Emily Kurland (goal, assist) and Muddy Kurland (two goals) led the Panthers, who fell to 7-4 and 6-3.

Susquehannock 21 Spring Grove 1: At Glen Rock, the Warriors moved to 10-0 overall and 8-0 in the York-Adams League. The Warriors' stat leaders were: Emma Stiffler (four goals, four assists), Harley Mummert (four goals), Kenna Hancock (two goals, two assists), Kalen Hancock (three goals, assist), Riley Roeder (goal, assist) and Cecilia Wilson (two goals).

York Catholic 19, York Suburban 2: At York Catholic, Kennedy Eckert led the Irish to the victory by scoring two goals and adding three assists. Also for the Irish, Ella Linthicum scored three goals; Carlin Mayer and Sarah Mazzur each scored two goals and added two assists; Lauren China and Kaylee Bandow each scored two goals; Shannon Staples had one goal and three assists; Janie Mullen had three assists; and Natalie Neiman had one goal and one assist. 

New Oxford 18, West York 1: At West York, Reilly Dearolf had 11 saves in a losing cause. Sydney Sweitzer had the Bulldogs' lone goal.
